United Brethren donates to Home Base Veteran and Family Care

On Feb. 26, United Brethren visited the Boston headquarters of the Home Base Veteran and Family Care Program, and donated $4000 raised by the Lodge's annual car show. The program provides free clinical programs in counseling and wellness to help "heal the invisible wounds of war," for both veterans and their families. The program was founded in 2009 as a partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. Initially open only to post-911 deployed veterans, is now also serving Vietnam veterans. The donation comes at a particularly useful time, as the organization, spread over several locations in Boston, is consolidating later this year in a facility in Charlestown within site of the USS Constitution. United Brethren plans to increase its donation to the Program after this year's 10th anniversary show on June 3, which we hope will attract a national corporate underwriter.
